[[ La semaine passée avait lieu le DEFI WIND à Gruissan. Initialement la plus grosse compétition mondiale de Windsurf, l’organisateur avait décidé de proposer un nouveau concept avec une 1ère partie qualification regroupant 300 amateurs puis l’évènement principal , le Super Star avec 100 qualifiés + 100 pros. /// Last week the Famous DEFI WIND took place in Gruissan. Initially the biggest windsurf competition in the World, the organizer proposed a new concept with the first part of the week a qualification event with 300 people. Then the top100 of the amator were qualified for the final event « Superstar » with 100 extra professionals. ]]

[[ Gruissan est normalement bien connu pour ses conditions fortes et ses longues courses ! Ca allait être différent cette année et pas toujours facile à gérer. Nous avons fait pas mal de manches dans du vent très changeant, léger et ce fut un peu compliqué pour moi d’être dans le bon tempo, d’avoir le bon matos et les bonnes stratégies. Les conditions auxquels je suis habitué en tant que local n’ont jamais été au rendez vous et c’était même le contraire. J’ai toujours réussi a néanmoins rester au contact mais malheureusement une première manche catastrophique m’empêchait de viser les meilleurs places du classement. Et cela malgré une belle victoire dans la dernière manche où j’arrivais enfin à m’exprimer et à glisser fort ! /// Gruissan is normally well know for the strong conditions and the long course you can do there ! This year was a bit different and not easy to deal with a light, gusty and changing wind. It was difficult for me to take the right tempo and be able to deal with those conditions. The conditions I am normally use to as a local never come and it was pretty special the condition we faced. I had to battle and push to keep on going but a first really bad race didn’t permit me to fight for top places. Even if I managed to win the last race in strong wind where I was happy to just be fast ! ]]

[[ Le résultat n’est pas là c’est sur mais je reste content pour 2 raisons. Premièrement, l’ambiance durant la compétition était super et ce mix Pro/Am est vraiment top ! Il y a une passion commune et les échanges avec et entre tous les participants sont sympas . Deuxièmement car j’ai pris une petite claque qui me remet en piste pour attaquer de la meilleure des façon la finale de la Coupe du Monde qui démarre ce WE à Marseille. Le titre en ligne de mire je sais qu'il faudra naviguer correctement, s’appliquer et prendre du plaisir.

Pierre /// The result is for sure not there but I am still happy for 2 reasons. First of all, the general atmosphere trough the event was pretty cool. This mix between Pro and Am is a great thing, we all have the same passion and we share it during event like this ! In a second hand, I get a little slap in the face which is good before to attack the last event of the year the World Cup Final in Marseille next week. I am really motivated and ready top fight for the tittle. For this I will have to race cleanly, to stay focus and to take pleasure on the water !
